I was a sports fan, but I also went to peace marches.

Everybody sort of questioned why we get married on New Year’s Day, and of course, the avid sports fans wouldn’t come, because they had to watch the Rose Bowl or whatever that is on that day.

It’s kind of ironic that the two sports with the greatest characters, boxing and horse racing, have both been on the decline. In both cases it’s for the lack of a suitable hero.

When a sports movie really works, it gets you on all levels, because the stakes are high. It’s black and white. It’s win or lose.

So while you’re an athlete, and you have that platform, what you want to be able to do is make it work for you as much as possible, because there’s going to be life after sports.

I think it’s good for sports cars to be united, to be just one. I think it’s good for the fans. When you have two different series, fans don’t know which way to go, when you only have one I think it’s good for the sport.

I was an All-American in wrestling in high school, was National Champion in Chinese kickboxing in 1999 and have spent a lot of time around professional athletes, which includes my eight-plus years as CEO of a sports nutrition company.

I don’t want to have to say, Honey, you know, could you turn off the sports channel because I’m not a big sports fan, and I don’t love the television being on just for the sake of turning on. I’d like turning on for some thing specific.

If I weren’t earning $3 million a year to dunk a basketball, most people on the street would run in the other direction if they saw me coming.

I didn’t grow up a theatre kid, going to theatre camps. I played sports, and that was my main direction. But luckily, I never had to choose between sports and theatre.
