I never had a cool older brother or sister to turn me on to cool music. I had to discover it for myself.

I just thought it could make a really cool movie. It’s not that it’s just a buddy comedy but it’s all about two guys hating each other and towards the end they’re good friends. I liked that these two guys were best friends from the very beginning, and they’re crazy.

Now there is so much expertise and brainpower it’s hard to be at the cutting edge of what’s cool and not do something that’s totally geeky.

The cool thing about working and meeting a lot of people through your acting is that you never know who you might work with, in the future.

Labels don’t mean anything to me. I’m trying to play as passionately as I’m able to. If they want to call that cool, that’s fine. Just spell the name right, is the formula.

I was never interested in making cool, distilled, pure objects.

The alternative scene, for a couple years now, has been taken seriously and that’s a cool thing. I don’t think it’s exploded or anything, but I think it’s pretty cool that it still exists, it’s still affecting people.

All I know is that I’ve ruled out wearing fairy wings. When I was nine I wanted to get married in fairy wings, and now I realize that’s not cool anymore.

I remember in high school trying to get home from water-polo practice in time so I could see Happy Days on television when it first came on, because I was so blown away by it. It was just such a cool thing.

If at any moment of the day I ever think I’m remotely cool at all, which is hardly ever, I have two daughters who make sure that never happens.
